About Nobuo Uematsu
植松伸夫 (Nobuo Uematsu) is a Japanese composer from Kōchi, born in 1959, best known for scoring most of the Final Fantasy series, from orchestral themes to rock-leaning battle tracks and sweeping ballads. His music has placed in the top 20 of Classic FM's Hall of Fame five times, a rare feat for a video game composer, and he founded the production company Dog Ear Records after leaving Square. A concert of his work is typically a live-orchestra or band retelling of those game scores, so it suits anyone who grew up with the Final Fantasy soundtracks and wants to hear them played properly.
