About Atarayo

Atarayo (あたらよ) is a four-piece Japanese band whose sound sits in the quieter, more melancholic corner of J-pop — layered guitars, restrained drums, and Hitomi's vocals doing most of the emotional heavy lifting. Formed in September 2019, they broke through when their debut original track went viral on TikTok, building a following of over 200,000 Spotify listeners without much of the usual promotional machinery behind them. Their catalogue rewards listeners who like their J-pop closer to indie rock than idol pop.
