Mass of the Fermenting Dregs (マスドレ) are a Kobe trio who have been threading shoegaze density and math rock precision through melodic J-rock since 2002. They've released multiple albums on Universal Music Japan and built a following of over 330K on Spotify — substantial for a band that stays resolutely on the noisier, more abrasive end of Japanese indie. Their live sets are known for hitting harder than the recordings suggest, with the guitar work in particular landing differently in a room.
