About DIIV
DIIV is a Brooklyn band led by Zachary Cole Smith, playing guitar-driven shoegaze and dream pop with a hazy, surf-tinged lo-fi edge. Smith started the project in 2011 as a solo outlet after stints in Beach Fossils and Darwin Deez, and the debut album Oshin (2012, Captured Tracks) established the band's interlocking, chorus-soaked guitar style. Live, that layered guitar work is the draw, so it suits anyone who likes their shoegaze loud and immersive.
