Ikon is a Melbourne goth band that has been building their sound since 1991, drawing on dark synth textures, brooding vocals, and the kind of cold, industrial atmosphere that sits closer to early Clan of Xymox or Dead Can Dance than anything in the K-pop column Spotify occasionally files them under. With 3.6 million followers and over three decades of releases, they carry genuine weight in the international goth and darkwave underground. Their live sets are built around dense layers of keyboard and processed guitar, which tends to reward listeners who already know the back catalogue.
