About Scott Young
Scott Young is a Hong Kong-born producer and DJ who plays club music for the late hours, moving from dub-heavy house into broken techno and musique concrète. He debuted with Commix on Samo DJ's Born Free label in 2015, and has since released on Discos Capablanca and OOH-Sounds, as well as the machine-learning album A Model Within on SUPERPANG under the name Satin Doll, which Lee Gamble put in his 2023 Boomkat chart. His sets hold a groove long enough to justify the detours, and his tracks follow the same logic, with hard drums giving way to tape-warped loops, field recordings and machine noise.
