Slowdive are a shoegaze and dream pop band from Reading, England, whose guitar-heavy, effects-drenched sound helped define the early-90s scene alongside My Bloody Valentine and Ride. They broke up in 1995 and spent nearly two decades away before reforming in 2013, releasing their first new album in 22 years in 2017 and a follow-up, everything is alive, in 2023. Their live sets are built around the same densely layered guitar textures as the records — loud, immersive, and worth hearing on a good sound system.
