About The Smashing Pumpkins
The Smashing Pumpkins are a Chicago alternative rock band formed in 1988 by Billy Corgan and James Iha, known for dense, layered guitar work that pulls from heavy metal, dream pop, and gothic rock rather than punk. Their run through the 1990s produced Siamese Dream (1993) and the double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), and the current lineup of Corgan, Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin matches the original except for bassist D'arcy Wretzky. For a Bangkok crowd, it's a chance to hear those 90s records played by most of the people who made them.
