About Periphery

Periphery is a progressive metal band from Bethesda, Maryland, formed in 2005 by guitarist Misha Mansoor, and one of the groups most closely tied to the djent sound: downtuned, polyrhythmic riffing set against big, melodic choruses. Mansoor started the project as a home-recording outlet, and it grew into a full band whose self-titled 2010 debut helped define the genre's early wave. Their live sets pair that rhythmic precision with a metalcore-leaning heaviness, which makes them a good pick for fans of technical guitar work who still want a hook to sing along to.
