About My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance is a New Jersey rock band, formed in 2001, whose sound sits between emo, pop punk, and theatrical alternative rock, fronted by Gerard Way alongside guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero and bassist Mikey Way. Their 2004 major-label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge went platinum within about a year, and 2006's concept album The Black Parade became the record most associated with the band. Live, they play those albums' songs at full scale, and the crowds tend to know every word.
