About kokeshi
kokeshi are a Tokyo band formed in 2017 who blend blackgaze and screamo with post-metal, post-rock and metallic hardcore, with a visual kei streak in their presentation. The group grew out of the long-running partnership of Adel and Kazuma, who were joined by vocalist Nana Yokota (亡無) and later Junichi, and their music plays on the pull between beauty and ugliness. They're an underground act rather than a big draw, so a small-room show is the likeliest setting to catch them, and one suited to fans of heavy, shoegaze-tinged hardcore.
