Kangding Ray

Kangding Ray is the project of David Letellier, a French producer based in Berlin who came to electronic music after years as a guitarist and drummer in rock, pop and jazz bands. His sound runs through IDM, glitch and dub techno, layering guitar loops, bass lines and digital noise into dense, rhythmic textures. He debuted with the album Stabil in 2006 and has since remixed Martin Gore and Ben Frost for Mute, Battles for Warp and Oscar Mulero for Polegroup. That range between experimental listening music and club-ready techno suggests a set that can work on a dancefloor without losing its sound-design detail.
