About CONTENTION
Contention are a Tampa, Florida hardcore band whose sound pulls from metalcore's heavy riffing while pushing into the jagged rhythms of mathcore and the rawness of hardcore punk. They've built a following of around 19,500 Spotify listeners since forming in 2019, a solid foothold for a band still in their early years. If you're into technically fractured, pit-ready hardcore, they're worth showing up early for.
