About Deerhoof
Deerhoof are a San Francisco band three decades into making noise rock that veers between brutal guitar squall and disarmingly sweet pop melody, often within the same song. They've released over a dozen albums and built a cult following among listeners who treat them as a reference point for how far rock structure can be pulled apart without collapsing. Their live sets are known for being physically loud and rhythmically intense — drummer and co-founder Greg Saunier plays like the kit is on fire, while Satomi Matsuzaki's vocals sit somewhere incongruously calm above it all.
