About A Guy Called Gerald
A Guy Called Gerald is a Manchester producer who helped carry Chicago acid house and Detroit techno into the UK in the late 1980s, later moving into jungle and drum and bass. He was an original member of 808 State, and his 1988 track "Voodoo Ray" remains one of British acid house's defining records. He has worked with Frankie Knuckles, Goldie, Derrick May and Finley Quaye, and has remixed David Bowie and the Stone Roses, so a live set is likely to draw on more than three decades of UK dance history.
