The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band

The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band are a Bangkok-based ensemble blending molam and luk thung — the folk and country traditions of Thailand's northeast — with psychedelic and funk influences drawn from vintage Thai recordings of the 1960s and 70s. Their 2015 debut on ZudRangMa Records helped bring the molam revival to international festival audiences, earning them dates across Europe and Asia. Live, the band performs with a full ensemble that puts the khaen mouth organ and phin lute front and center, which is a harder sound to find on a Bangkok stage than you'd expect.
