Romrom

RomRom is a Bangkok DJ duo and event collective founded by Pez and Tam, built around giving selectors the space to play music that moves them rather than just the crowd. Their self-described mission — music from the soul, for the soul — translates into sets that pull from Bollywood, Bhangra, Khmer and Anatolian funk, with Northern Soul on vinyl, alongside global disco, Algerian rai, South African synth, and whatever else fits the night. 
 

Beyond their own DJing, RomRom run one of the city's most distinctive party series. Their monthly residency lives at 12x12 in Thong Lor, where they invite local talent in to play deeper, more personal sets, while their larger gatherings take over multiple floors of The Warehouse and Clutch Bar in Talat Noi — typically with vintage markets, pop-up tattoos, food vendors and art installations stitched in around the music. Past line-ups have featured local artists like Elaheh and Sarayu alongside international and regional names including Onra and Dean Chew, and more recently Nabihah Iqbal and Norsicaa. 
 

The collective is closely tied to Bangkok Community Radio and has collaborated with Mixmag Asia on flagship events. For anyone looking to plug into Bangkok's underground beyond the standard club circuit, a RomRom night is one of the more reliably interesting things on the calendar.
