About the Artist

Arak Pacha are a Chilean folk group from Arica who draw on Andean and Quechua musical traditions from the borderlands where Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, and Peru meet — think charangos, zampoñas, and layered vocal harmonies rooted in northern Andean folklore. Formed in 1980, they have been active for over four decades, making them one of the longer-running ensembles in Chilean traditional music. If you have any interest in indigenous Andean sounds rarely heard on Bangkok stages, this is a genuinely uncommon chance to see the form performed by people who have spent their lives inside it.
