Oathean are a Seoul black metal band active since 1993, blending melodic death metal aggression with atmospheric textures and the contrast of harsh and clean female vocals. They are a rare example of a Korean act working seriously in this corner of extreme metal for over three decades, though their global profile remains small. A five-piece live setup with dual guitars and that vocal dynamic gives their sets a different weight than the solo and duo projects that dominate the genre.
