ไมค์ ภิรมย์พร (Mike Piromporn) is a Thai luk thung and phleng phuea chiwit singer whose voice carries the grit and warmth of southern Thai tradition, built over a career stretching back to the mid-1960s. His 1995 Grammy Gold album Yah Jai Kon Jon (ยาใจคนจน) was the label's first luk thung release to cross one million cassette sales, cementing him as a cornerstone of the genre. If you grew up with his records, seeing him perform the classics in a live setting is a different thing entirely from a playlist.
