KAGAMI is a Netherlands-based producer and artist working in city pop and J-R&B, drawing on the smooth synthesizer textures and rhythm arrangements associated with late-1980s Japanese pop. With around 6,000 Spotify followers, the project sits at an early stage, but has built enough of a following to maintain an active presence across Bandcamp, Instagram, and a dedicated site. Listeners who came up on Mariya Takeuchi or modern city pop revivalists will find the sound familiar territory.
