COVET

COVET is an instrumental math rock project led by guitarist Yvette Young, built on intricate fingerstyle and tapping lines that pull in post-rock, midwest emo and a touch of djent heaviness. Young, who trained as a classical pianist and violinist before turning to guitar, has become a prominent name in the technical guitar scene, and her debut album Technicolor (2020) helped bring the band to a wider audience. Live, the appeal is watching those dense, interlocking parts played tightly by a small band, with Young's two-handed technique front and center.
