Cephalo is a Japanese band working at the intersection of shoegaze and math rock, layering heavily processed guitars and shifting time signatures into something dense but melodic. They have around 16,000 Spotify followers and remain largely under the radar outside of Japan's indie circuit. If you're drawn to the noisier end of Japanese guitar music, a small venue set is probably the right way to hear what the layered studio textures actually feel like at volume.
