Brujeria

Brujería are a Los Angeles-based death metal band built around a fictional mythology of Mexican drug cartel Satanists, playing a grinding blend of grindcore, groove metal, and death metal with lyrics delivered almost entirely in Spanish. Their 1993 debut Matando Güeros was released under a deliberately anonymous lineup — the band refused to confirm member identities for years, leaning into the narco-occult persona as part of the concept. Live, that theatricality carries over: the masks, aliases, and aggressive low-end from their historically triple-bass setup give their sets a confrontational character that studio recordings only partially capture.
