Labanoon (ลาบานูน) is a Thai rock trio of Thai-Muslim musicians, built on just guitar, bass and drums, with a plainspoken pop-rock sound that also draws on southern Thai music and phleng phuea chiwit. The band came out of the Hot Wave Music Awards, where they reached the final ten and were signed by Music Bugs, and their name is Arabic for "fresh milk", a nod to their stripped-back, unembellished approach. With Methee Arun on lead vocals and guitar, Anan Saman on bass and Somporn Yuso on drums, the three-piece setup should translate directly to the stage, where the songs rely on their melodies rather than production.
