Sting

Sting is an English singer, songwriter and bassist who fronted The Police from 1977 to 1986 before going solo in 1985, folding jazz, reggae, classical and worldbeat into a rock and pop songwriting base. Across his solo work and The Police he has sold more than 100 million records, and his awards include Brit Awards for Best British Male Artist in 1994 and Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2002.
