Maarten Goetheer

Maarten Goetheer is an Amsterdam-raised DJ whose sets draw on Bossa Nova, Afrobeat, deep house, samba, broken beat and Studio 54-era disco. He won his first DMC DJ contest at 17, went on to hold a residency at Bitterzoet in central Amsterdam, and later moved to Asia, which he credits with kickstarting his career. He grew up with a jazz pianist father and cites Larry Levan, François K and Louie Vega as the DJs who shaped him, so expect a selection rooted in classic dance-floor lineage rather than current trends.
