Dean Chew

Dean Chew, who also performs as Funk Bast*rd, is a Singapore-based DJ and label head working in leftfield house and club music. He got his start in raves and house parties during his university years in Australia, then began playing Zouk and Velvet Underground in Singapore in the early 2010s. He co-founded the Darker Than Wax label and party series with Kaye, and as the label's main A&R he has spent the past several years building a local community around it, so expect a selector's set that leans toward the alternative end of the dance floor rather than a peak-time playlist.
