About the Artist

Châkidor were a Quebec duo who blended Cajun, bluegrass, and Celtic folk with enough technical polish to keep it from feeling purely traditional. Active from 1999 to 2014, they were founded by André Varin and Valérie Pichon out of the Outaouais region, and their name is a French pun on "sleepy cat" that undersells how lively their material actually is.
