Axel Boman

Axel Boman is a Stockholm DJ and producer whose house music is stripped-down, groove-heavy and a little cheeky, with jazz-inflected touches and the occasional melancholy turn, as on "Depression 01." His 2010 track "Purple Drank" came out on DJ Koze's Pampa Records, and the same year he helped found Studio Barnhus with Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordqvist, a Stockholm label that has since passed 100 releases. He came up on the city's club scene, first as a raver in the early '90s and later behind the decks, so expect a selector's set built around groove and humor rather than peak-hour force.
