## About this concert

A complete performance of J.S. Bach's Musikalisches Opfer, BWV 1079. The Musical Offering is a monumental late work by Johann Sebastian Bach, inspired by a theme given to him by Frederick the Great. Bach composed this collection of canons, two fugues, and a trio sonata, exploring the fundamental contrapuntal form of the canon to its amazing possibilities.
