## About

Baby J is a UK hip-hop producer who splits his time between the UK and New York, working in a soulful, boom-bap-rooted style. An A&R from the Wu-Tang camp picked up one of his demos in 1995, which led to his first release, a 12" with Shabazz the Disciple on Penalty Records, and later mixtape production for Brand Nubian, Dead Prez and Imam Thug. His 1998 solo album *The Birth*, on Bomb Hip Hop, brought together US and UK emcees, which gives a good sense of the transatlantic, rap-first approach he brings to a live set.
