About the Artist

38 Special is a Jacksonville, Florida band, formed in 1975 by vocalist Donnie Van Zant, that began as straight-ahead Southern rock in the vein of Lynyrd Skynyrd, led by his older brother Ronnie. In the early 1980s they moved toward a more polished mix of pop rock, blues rock and arena rock, which produced "Caught Up in You" (1982) and "If I'd Been the One" (1983), both #1 hits on Billboard's album rock chart. Expect a set built around those radio staples, including "Second Chance" from 1989.
